Reports

Reports let you create standardized templates (blueprints) and generate snapshots of your dashboard data at specific points in time. Unlike dashboards, which show live data, generated reports capture a frozen view of widgets, text, and images that you can reference later.

Report blueprints are reusable templates that define:

  • Text blocks with custom styling
  • Widget snapshots from your dashboards
  • Images from external URLs
  • Grid-based layout positioning

Generated reports are point-in-time snapshots created from a blueprint. Each generated report:

  • Captures widget data exactly as it appeared when generated
  • Stores independently from the blueprint (deleting a blueprint does not delete its reports)
  • Retains the layout and styling defined in the blueprint

Reports work well when you need:

  • Monthly or quarterly summaries that capture specific metrics
  • Historical records of dashboard performance for compliance
  • Standardized templates for recurring client or team updates
  • Snapshots before major changes to track impact over time

Navigate to Reports from the main navigation to access your report blueprints. From there you can:

  1. Create a new report blueprint that defines your layout and content
  2. Generate a report from any blueprint to capture current data
  3. View generated reports to see historical snapshots

A blueprint is a reusable template containing:

ComponentDescription
NameIdentifies the blueprint in the list
DescriptionOptional context about the report’s purpose
ElementsText blocks, widgets, and images arranged on a grid

Each blueprint contains elements positioned on a 6-column grid:

  • Text elements: Static or dynamic text with formatting options
  • Widget elements: References to dashboard widgets that get snapshotted
  • Image elements: External images loaded from URLs

Elements can be dragged, resized, and configured individually.

When you generate a report from a blueprint:

  • The system creates a copy of the blueprint’s structure
  • Widget data is frozen as snapshots (stored separately)
  • Text and images retain their configuration from the blueprint
  • The report gets a timestamp and optional creator attribution

Generated reports persist even if the source blueprint is modified or deleted.

  • Reports are view-only once generated
  • Each blueprint supports up to 100 elements
  • Widget snapshots capture the widget’s current data and configuration
  • Image elements load from external URLs and are not stored locally
